See it: Luke Voit Goes Sleeveless, Hits Home Run
USA TODAY Sports

Suns out, guns out.

Slugger Luke Voit wore a sleeveless uniform for Triple-A Syracuse and proceeded to go deep for a home run on Saturday.

Since signing a minor league deal with the New York Mets on June 12, Voit has shown off some serious power. Voit has four homers and a 1.019 OPS for Syracuse this year.

On Saturday, he reminded everyone that when it comes to hitting home runs, he means business.

Voit led the Major League Baseball with 22 home runs during the Covid-shortened 2020 season when he was a member of the Yankees.

Voit signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers in the offseason, but was released after hitting zero homers and posting a .548 OPS.

Voit hit 68 homers for the Yankees from 2018-2021.

However, injuries derailed his Yankee career, which led to the team moving on from him by trading for Anthony Rizzo at the 2021 trade deadline.

Voit was later traded to the San Diego Padres for pitching prospect Justin Lange, who is still in the Yankees' system.

The Padres traded Voit to the Washington Nationals as part of the Juan Soto blockbuster deal.
