Expect the Chicago Blackhawks to be active during the offseason
? David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

With the NHL wrapping up the 2023-24 regular season in the next handful of weeks as we switch gears into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discussed on Daily Faceoff Live why the Chicago Blackhawks will be an active team during the offseason in an attempt to turn their rebuild around quick and get back to playoff contention.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Out of the bottom-feeder teams in the league between the Coyotes, Ducks, Blue Jackets, Sharks and Blackhawks, I’m going to go out and say that Anaheim will be the most aggressive this offseason to come out of their rebuild. Is that fair or foul?

Frank Seravalli: Foul. I think the Ducks are methodically building and have a ways to go to get there. I think the most aggressive team will be the Blackhawks you can absolutely guarantee it if the Blackhawks win the lottery again. They can’t win the rights after that if they miraculously win the rights to Macklin Celebrini.

Frank Seravalli: On to that, it’s year two of the Connor Bedard experience coming up and you see the guys that they have brought to surround him. They need more, they have tons of money they have to spend to get to the floor. You start to see some of the other pieces have started to come into a place like Kevin Korchinski and eventually Frank Nazar. I would expect the Blackhawks to try and cut that ground in half between themselves and the playoffs next season and then in 2026 shoot to be a playoff team again.
