While waiting to see who will be the next head coach, the AC Milan leaders are also working on the striker that will come in and lead the line hopefully for years to come.

Given that Olivier Giroud will depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, a new centre-forward is required who can inherit the No.9 shirt and replace the Frenchman’s goals, if not even better the tally.

According to the latest from Anto Vitiello, Milan are working on the striker of the future and there will be a ‘significant’ investment made to sign a player, one that has been delayed for years now.

There are ‘continuous contacts’ over Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee, with the Rossineri having been working for months to find an economic solution that could satisfy everyone.

There is also Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig on the list, a forward who is different in characteristics to Zirkzee, but someone that the management really like because of his potential.

Also of interest are Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP and Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord, but those are ‘complicated’ options due to how much each would cost and the strong competition from other clubs around Europe.
